This event was rescheduled from its original date in January 2026. It is primarily aimed at Gladstone trainees (graduate students and postdocs).

Join Brittany Anderton, Associate Director of Philanthropy at Gladstone, to discuss principles of communicating with non-scientific audiences to make you more effective in sharing your science and research with members of the public, donors, and more. This session will center on crafting your elevator pitch and also cover other topics to improve your science communication skills with non-scientists.

Topics of this session will include:

  • Crafting your elevator pitch
  • Communicating with non-scientists
  • How to talk with donors
  • Safety and boundaries with donors

The principles of the elevator pitch are most applicable for engaging with the public and donors (not business or industry, for example).

Attendance for this event is capped at 24 people, so be sure to register.
