This Is AI Understanding Women’s Health
Out of 2 billion people around the globe who menstruate each month, only about 1 percent are represented in existing research. A team of scientists at Gladstone Institutes wants to do better.
They’re collaborating with Oura Ring to collect data from individuals of diverse backgrounds. And, they developed a new AI model to analyze the complex data from these wearable devices and find trends across menstrual cycles.
In this video, hear from Gladstone Investigator Barbara Engelhardt, PhD, and Gladstone President Deepak Srivastava, MD, as they explain how AI can help make sense of what’s normal—and what could signal problems—when it comes to the menstrual cycle, and how it can empower women to understand how their periods reflect their health.
