Mala advises Gladstone’s leaders as the head of the Intellectual Property and Legal Affairs Department. Her department supports Gladstone’s mission and dynamic environment by providing guidance in a broad range of areas, including business, intellectual property, scientific research, operations, administration, and policies and regulations. Admitted to practice law in California, Mala is a patent attorney registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. She has several years of patent prosecution and intellectual property portfolio management experience. Mala has a bachelor’s degree with majors in both chemistry and philosophy from UC Davis, and a juris doctor degree from Indiana University, Bloomington.
