Warner Greene, MD, PhD, Director, Center for HIV Cure Research

The Greene Lab seeks to understand the molecular basis for HIV pathogenesis. Specifically, they are exploring the molecular mechanisms by which HIV promotes CD4 T-cell death, as well as mechanisms that control HIV latency. By identifying host factors that mediate the ability of T cells to recognize and respond to HIV, they hope to discover novel strategies to eliminate infection or alter the destructive response to infection, and generate a functional cure.
