Whether you’re new to AI tools like Claude or ChatGPT or already using them in your research, this hands-on workshop will help you get more out of them. You’ll learn how to communicate effectively with AI tools through the “4 Ds” framework: Delegation (knowing when AI can help), Description (crafting effective prompts), Discernment (critically evaluating AI outputs), and Diligence (using AI ethically and responsibly). No coding or programming involved. Registration closes on 09/15/2026. This is an introductory workshop.
By the end of this workshop you should be comfortable with:
- Identifying tasks that are well-suited for AI assistance
- Writing clear, effective prompts to get useful results
- Evaluating AI outputs for accuracy and appropriateness
- Recognizing limitations and potential biases in AI responses
- Applying ethical best practices when using AI in research
Prerequisites: No prior AI or programming experience required. Participants need only a laptop and a free Claude account (sign up at claude.ai). Please register for the workshop using the same email address associated with your Claude account.
