San Francisco Business Times—Early on in the pandemic, Gladstone Senior Investigator Jennifer Doudna, PhD, co-discoverer of CRISPR, recognized the need for safe, reliable, and rapid COVID-19 testing. She quickly mobilized a team of scientists from UC Berkeley, UC San Francisco, and elsewhere to develop a high-throughput detection assay and test vulnerable and at-risk populations in the Bay Area. Doudna was recently named one of the most influential women in Bay Area business by the San Francisco Business Times.
