In response to the pandemic, many Gladstone scientists have rapidly pivoted the focus of their research labs to SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. They are leveraging established tools, unique infrastructure, and diverse expertise in virology to develop improved diagnostics, identify targeted treatment strategies, and invent preventative approaches.
In this virtual lab tour, Gokul Ramadoss from the Conklin Lab, and Serah Kang, from the McDevitt Lab, talk about their recent study that highlights the effects of SARS-CoV-2 on the heart. They cover how they made this discovery, the impact it could have on treatment for COVID-19 patients, and answer some of your questions about the virus.
