Trainee-to-Tenure
Francoise Chanut
Research statements can be hard to write. They need to combine rigorous science with a healthy dose of self-promotion. Françoise Chanut, senior scientific editor at Gladstone, will discuss samples and review writing principles to help you pack a punch in your research statement, and also address the cover letter for faculty application packages.
In this course, you'll learn:
- The dos and don’ts of research statements
- Writing principles that improve readability and impact
- The elements to include in your research statement versus your cover letter or CV
- Best practices for faculty application cover letters
This event, and the rest of the Trainee to Tenure series, is designed to be attended the year (or more) before you intend to go on the job market.
