The 2021 PUMAS summer internship is dependent on the status of the COVID-19 pandemic. Reach out to the program administrators for an update on the program.

Letters of Recommendation

Provide the name(s) and email(s) for one or two references who can submit a letter of recommendation for you. Your references must be a scientific mentor and/or educator, such as a college science professor from whom you’ve taken a science course. The reference(s) you list below will receive an email request indicating your name and asking them to submit a letter of recommendation on your behalf.

We recommend that you contact you reference(s) in advance to get their approval and inform them that they will receive an email request. The deadline for your reference to submit the letter of recommendation is March 17, 2021:

Returning 2020 Applicants: If you submitted this application last year, we already have letters of recommendation for you from your references from last year. You do not need to enter references again, although you may add new references to request new letters of recommendation.

Student Commitment

Proof of Citizenship/Resident Status

If you are accepted into the PUMAS program and offered summer employment at Gladstone Institutes, will you be able to provide documentation, on the first day of work, that you are authorized to work in the United States (either as a citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, or alien) for this internship position?

I understand that the 2021 PUMAS program may be canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I also understand that I must provide my own accommodation and my own transportation to and from Gladstone.
