To apply for the 2020 PUMAS internship program, please fill out the form below.

Before you start, read these instructions carefully. To submit your application, you will need to upload separate files for your essay answers, your resume, and your college transcript(s). Please ensure your documents are ready before you start.

You will also need to include the names and email addresses of 1 or 2 references. We recommend that you contact your reference(s) in advance to get their approval and inform them that they will receive an email request. When you submit your application, the people you select will receive an email with a link and instructions to submit a letter of recommendation online. Please keep in mind that letters of recommendation must be submitted by March 5, 2020.

You do not have to complete the form in one session.  You can click the "Save Draft" button at the  bottom of the form to save your work, and you will receive an email with a special link that will take you back to your saved application form to continue working on it. You can do this any number of times. When your application is finally complete, click the "Submit" button at bottom.

Transcripts

All PUMAS applicants must provide an official or unofficial copy of their college transcript(s). Upload all documents below. Do not mail your transcripts to Gladstone.
If you have attended more than one college, include a transcript from each college (for multiple transcripts, upload one file at a time). You must also upload an unofficial record of the courses you are currently enrolled in this semester.

Resume

Upload your resume as a separate document. Your resume should be no longer than two pages, and should include relevant information from college (not high school).
Your resume should include

  • Name

  • Any awards and honors received
  • Any volunteer or work experience (e.g. church activities, community service, clubs/organizations,etc.)
  • Any leadership roles

Letters of Recommendation

Provide the name(s) and email(s) for one or two references who can submit aletter of recommendation for you. Your references must be a scientific mentor and/or educator, such as a college science professor from whom you’ve taken a science course. The reference(s) you list below will receive an email request indicating your name and asking them to submit a letter of recommendation on your behalf.

We recommend that you contact you reference(s) in advance to get their approval and inform them that they will receive an email request. The deadline for your reference to submit the letter of recommendation is March 6, 2020

Student Commitment

Do you have any prior commitments or circumstances that overlap with the 9-week PUMAS internship program dates(Monday, June 8 to Friday, August 7, 2020) or limit your participation in a 30-hour work week?
Please list below any summer commitments, including work (full time or part time), travel plans, summer classes, or other internship programs. Please indicate the dates affected by each commitment.

Proof of Citizenship/Resident Status

If you are accepted into the PUMAS program and offered summer employment at the Gladstone Institutes, will you be able to provide documentation, on the first day of work, that you are authorized to work in the United States (either as a citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, or alien) for this internship position?
