We are thrilled to invite you to the second part of our impactful DZIF workshop: Language (Mis)use in HIV Research Communications.

The German Center for Infection Research (DZIF) presents:

Part 2: Reducing HIV Stigma Through Appropriate Language in Scientific Communications

In Part 1, during the AIDS 2024 Global Village event, we achieved remarkable results through our language workshop. Community members and scientists collaborated to write stigmatizing words and phrases, creating a powerful visual impact. Additionally, we gathered insightful data from our survey.

We are excited to share these results with you in our upcoming online seminar, open to all TTU HIV members and other interested DZIF researchers.

When: September 18th, 8 AM PT / 5 PM Germany
Where: Join the seminar
Meeting ID: 957 1846 8617
Passcode: 898672

What's in Store:

  • Presentations by HOPE Community members on language use and HIV stigma
  • Summary of results from Part 1 of the workshop
  • Panel discussion on the importance of language choice in research communications
  • Informed guidance on engaging with communities through language in research

For more information, please contact Ulrike Lange.

DZIF proudly sponsors this event.

We look forward to your participation and to continuing our important work in reducing HIV stigma through appropriate language in scientific communications.
