Wednesday, May 31, 2017

Bob Mahley will discuss the components and characteristics of a chalk talk, followed by a practical example of this part of the recruitment interview process for new faculty/independent researchers.

Learning Outcomes

  • To consider the critical features of a chalk talk that are necessary to provide key information for a search committee.
  • To consider critical items that should be written on the whiteboard.
  • To understand the “roles” that different search committee members assume.

This event is open to the Gladstone scientific community.

The Trainee-to-Tenure Track Program is a strategy from Gladstone’s Office of Postdoctoral and Graduate Student Affairs to help early-career scientists in their path toward academic independence and faculty positions.
