In addition to neurons, the brain contains immune cells called microglia, which prune synapses, remove dead cells, and fight infection. In this seminar, Melanie Das describes her work investigating how microglia interact with neurons and may contribute to neurodgenerative diseases including Alzheimer’s disease.
