Celebrate AAPI Heritage Month with a special film screening and discussion of The Worlds of Bernice Bing.

The Worlds of Bernice Bing is a feature-length documentary that explores the legacy of pioneering Chinese American artist Bernice Bing, who was a key figure in the San Francisco Bay Area’s art scene during the 1950s and 1960s.

Bing’s work was deeply rooted in her Chinese heritage, but she also drew inspiration from the American abstract expressionist movement. Her paintings, drawings, and prints were known for their bold colors and dynamic forms, as well as their exploration of themes such as identity, spirituality, and social justice.

The film will be screened live with your colleagues during this event, both for in-person and remote participants. If you prefer to watch the movie on your own time, you can access the film from Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at 5pm to Thursday, June 1, 2023 at 5pm.

Following the film screening, join a moderated discussion to engage with your colleagues about the film and its themes. You'll also get to enjoy some Asian snacks after the event.
