Joan McIntyre is the Vice President for Intellectual Property and Legal Affairs at the Gladstone Institutes. Ms. McIntyre is responsible for all aspects of Gladstone’s intellectual property, including technology licensing and research-related agreements. She also serves as in-house counsel for general legal affairs. Ms. McIntyre joined Gladstone in 1997 and has more than 25 years of experience in intellectual property law—having worked in private practice, the medical-device industry and technology transfer for academia. She is admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, State of Minnesota, the Federal District Court of Minnesota, the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and as Registered In-House Counsel in the State of California. Ms. McIntyre is a registered U. S. Patent Attorney who earned a bachelor’s degree in medical microbiology at the University of Minnesota and a JD from the William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minn.
