The final stage to every academic job search process is arguably, the most exciting. This is when you will review your job offer (or offers!) and negotiate your tenure-track package. With the hard part behind you, it is crucial you master the art of negotiation in order to receive the best package possible.

In this workshop, you will learn best practices and strategies to most effectively negotiate an academic job offer, and set yourself up for success.

This interactive workshop will be instructed by our expert panel of scientists: Steve Finkbeiner, Anatol Kreitzer, Todd McDevitt, and Katherine Pollard, and Moderator Elphège Nora.

Topics Covered Include:

  • How to ask for what you want
  • Determining what's negotiable and what is not
  • Negotiation techniques
  • The typical contents of a job offer letter
  • Questions you should consider prior to accepting an offer
